A 330ml bottle with a BB of March 2018, so it's a little out of date. Acquired a while back from a webshop. Described on the label as a velvety milk stout with hints of chocolate and toffee.
A: Poured into a tulip. Bottle conditioned. A very dark reddish-brown that appears pitch black in the glass. Yields a massive head of frothy brown foam with decent retention; this steadily reduces to a patchy surface layer.
S: Aroma of rich dark malt with hints of roasted grain, chocolate, dried fruit, mild molasses, subtle lactose, ale yeast, a hint of liquorice and a touch of smokiness in the background. Nice - complex and satisfying.
T: Tastes of dark malt with notes of roasted grain, chocolate, dried fruit, subtle molasses, lactose, ale yeast and faint smokiness. A touch of acidity in the background. Quite sweet, followed by a substantial malt-driven bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with spritzy carbonation and decent body for the style. Could perhaps be a shade creamier. Aftertaste of roasted malt, chocolate, mild dried fruit, subtle molasses, lactose and ale yeast.
O: Pretty good - certainly delivers a dark malt hit. Looks great, while the aroma and flavour are stuffed with dark malt character underpinned by sweet lactose and ale yeast. Body is OK but could be a tad thicker. Drinkable and a nice brew to round out a session with. Worth sampling.

From a 330ml bottle.
L: Glossy black with a large, dark mocha head.
S: Dark roasted malts & bitter chocolate. Disappears at times. Too restrained.
T: Coffee notes. Woody, leafy, bitter hops. Low sweetness.
F: Medium body. Bitter and sharp.
O: Very bitter & dry for a milk stout. Body and flavour are harsh rather than smooth and velvety. Not sweet enough for the style.
