330 ml can, from the brewery webstore. ABV is 5.5%. Black colour, moderate and creamy tan head. Aroma of roast malts and lactose, hints of oatmeal / porridge, dark chocolate and mild coffee. Smooth flavour with the same elements as the aroma, not too sweet, a hint of liquorice, moderate bittering hops in the finish.

330ml Can from Beer52:
Oily black with a tan coloured, thick head that's foamy & holds well. The nose is dark & malty but not all that sweet, some milky notes do feature alongside some toasted notes & some chocolate. The taste is malty too with more chocolate & lactose showing alongside some toasted malts. It's smooth & medium bodied with some bitterness at the end.

On cask at Glasgow Real Ale Festival. Very dark coloured beer with a chocolate nose. Thankfully no hint of the advertised coffee flavour, but there is a hint of cherry and it is nutty (the programme's suggestion of almonds seems appropriate). An excellent brew.
