A 330ml can with a BB of Nov 2018. Acquired a while back from a webshop. Presumably intended as a winter brew, the label describes this as a hazy pale ale with notes of lemon, lime and cream. The ingredients include oats, lactose, raisins, brandy toffee, lime zest and vanilla extract.
A: Poured into a tulip. Can-conditioned. A bright, hazy amber colour with plentiful floating sediment and modest carbonation. Produces a large head of frothy white foam that lasts for a moment before subsiding to a patchy surface layer. Slight lacing.
S: Aroma of mildly fruity hops with hints of lemon zest, mild citrus, white berries, subtle earthiness, ale yeast, pale malt and a twinge of lactose. OK but understated and a bit muddled.
T: Tastes of light fruity hops with notes of floral aromatics, mild citrus, subtle lemon, white grape, hay, earthiness, ale yeast, pale malt and a touch of lactose/toffee in the background. Somewhat sweet, followed by a delicate bitterness upon swallowing.
M: Mouthfeel is smooth and tingly, with fizzy carbonation and decent body for the strength. Lightly astringent. Aftertaste of light fruity hops, subtle citrus, earthy yeast, pale malt and lactose.
O: Interesting pale ale but doesn't make much impact. Looks OKish; head retention could be improved. Aroma and flavour are a moderate blend of light hops, ale yeast and subtle malt. Body is alright. Drinkable enough but not very memorable. No need to hunt it down.
