Biloxi Brewing Company

 

Small taproom in a non descript building, friendly staff and some good beer. The brewers seem to be sour fans which I am not but the pale ale is a solid choice.

 

My time in Biloxi was short, but I definitely wanted to check these guys out. In the rare occasion you think "Mississippi," chances are craft beer doesn't come to mind. You may have heard of Lazy Magnolia, but MS isn't really doing much in the craft beer scene. But the guys at BBC seem to know what they're doing, and are willing to experiment, not just making the same old brews that everyone else is.

So the place is small and simple, set in a little building down an average looking street. Though actually since the whole state was covered in a dense fog, I couldn't see much of anything. Apparently Biloxi is a big casino town, so this brewery should be getting some tourism from that. Seemingly catering to that aspect, among the beers on tap were three kolsches...not my style of choice, but actually for the style, they were quite good. Two of these were soured and fruited, and I really enjoyed the mojito version. They also had some pales, IPAs, a gose, and a decent BA stout on as well. Merch and growlers available. I got to chat with the guys who I assume are the owners, and they're pretty cool and knowledgeable, and I wish them success.

Looks like a retired cop bar off the beach. Brilliant and quiet setting. Sit st the bar. Selection limited tonight as they rolled through the end of their summer selection. Very clean brewing area.
