Appearance: Hazy golden-brown in color, with a massive, fine-beaded cream white head with excellent retention. Patchy islands of lacing adorn the glass walls. Sparse, fat bubbles drift lazily to the surface.

Aroma: Prominent citrus and herbal hops dominate the aroma, with very little of the typical resinous pine hops often found in this style. Beneath the hops, there is a solid rustic white bread presence. There is also a subdued floral hop note. The high ABV of 8.9 percent is utterly absent from the aroma.

Taste: For Ella Opens with a burst of citric and herbal hops, soon followed by a solid malt backbone, like light caramel spread upon freshly baked white bread. The formidable ABV of 8.9 percent presents only as a gentle warming, but absent otherwise from the taste. As the taste draws to a close, there is a mild note of resinous pine hops. Finishes with a lingering, mild herbal and medicinal bitterness.

Mouth feel: Very soft and full, with a consistency like that of whole milk. Just a hint of carbonation dances across the palate.

Drinkability/notes: A simply excellent example of a polarizing style, many either love Imperial IPAs or disdain them. I am not a particular fan of the style, but For Ella is simply excellent.

Presentation: Packaged in a standard twelve-ounce aluminum can, served in a South American-style Pilsener glass. 1792:04032021

I just this local IPA at a local restaurant.

Look: Hazy golden with a thick white head

Aroma: grapefruit, pine resin

Taste: Light, juicy, dank, grapefruit and pine resin, somewhat moderate bitterness for a DIPA.

Feel: light body

Poured into an IPA glass. Pours a clear straw color with a one finger head that leaves minimal lacing. Nose is citrus and flowery hops. Taste is citrus and dank hops with a pale malt background and a semi-sweet dank finish. Medium body and medium carbonation.
Good can art and even better beer inside. A nice amount of malt to backup the dank and citrus hops. It is still hop forward and a DIPA, but it's not too harsh or aggressive. It's something that can get you in trouble.

Fairly light in color and not much nose on it. Taste and mouthfeel are pretty decent. Not the best example of a IIPA but overall very drinkable for sure.

Pours like sweet tea, hazy almost dark orange. Nose lovingly offers hoppy floral essence. Taste is flimsy bready with bitter. Follow up is dry and white pepper with the finish. After taste here btscatbpeaches or apricots. Good beer.

Nice looking with plenty of lace and a nice head. Pungent and spicy, almost biting in smell, carrying over to the taste. Very flavorful but a bit rough to drink more than one.

Very nice beer! Poured from a can into a tulip glass. Brownish orange color, nice fluffy beige head and nice lacing. Pleasant citrus smell. Taste is rich, spicy citrus, piney and a bit bitter. Would buy again.

Burnt orange color, lots of haze (and floaties!), light tan head. Aromas are HUGE dank citrus and tropical fruit. I am now officially salivating.

The taste is dank hops all OVER the palate. The citrus and tropical fruit flavors blend well, and there's a really nice malt backbone to give this some additional gravitas. Well done by Tupps.
