Great clean and bitter citrus brew, showcasing the citra hops. Needs other hops for balance and complexity, but this is otherwise solid.

Light golden color very little lace
Definitely Citra aroma
And Citra taste, grapefruit, bitter as you want
It is a bit lighter on the malt than I would like but a very nice IPA

Clear pale gold look that is very nice. Nice strong apricot smell with very good citrus notes with slight grapefruit notes. Same in the taste but a little too grapefruit and sweetness with less apricot. Beer is a bit heavy for an IPA but pretty good. Overall, worth it.

Review of Our Elaborate Plans (Citra IPA) from Ocelot, one of my absolute favorite new local breweries.
Appearance: Pours a very light yellow color suggesting a Pilsner malt base. Bright and vibrant. Pretty clear with just a hint of hop haze. Gorgeous, big fluffy white head that retains very well for a beer with this much hop oil. Nice lacing.
Aroma: If you like Citra, you'll love this. If not, you won't. Very light slightly cracker malt presence. Classic Citra: sweet citrus, grapefruit peel and juice, and hints of tropical fruit. Super bright
Flavor: Very clean palate with minimal malt character. Citra hop dominant. Minimal bitterness for the style. Again very bright. Lots of citrus peel and deep citrus character. Dry and light bodied for the style/ABV. Works for me. This is a pure Citra hop expression.
Feel: Again, light-bodied for the style. Pretty dry and minimally bitter. Some lingering bitterness and citric flavors on the finish, but nothing crazy.
Overall: Really nice showcase of the Citra hop. Absolutely delicious. Drinks exceptionally easy for 7%. As a previous reviewer noted, this is one you have to get fresh. Once the Citra character fades, there's going to be nothing left.

On tap at brewery:
Pours white side of yellow, quite hazy beer. Head is snow white, collects decently at the edges, and laces the glass.
Granted, I'm at the brewery, so I'm guessing this is fresh, but... This beer smells great, but is somewhat one dimensional, good or bad. I choose good. Light cracker grain and huge grapefruit, mainly its pith.
Taste is as clean as the smell, and won't shock or surprise anyone who took a whiff before they tipped their glass up. Citrus, mainly grapefruit, let's the grain bill have its second of fame before taking center stage. The bitterness from the hops does not bite too deeply into the refreshing nature of this beer. Dry, but only slightly; to counter this praise, the beer is a bit thin. At this point I'm nitpicking, though.
Second beer I've reviewed by this brewery where my enjoyment outweighed the individual components. This might be a beer that needs to be enjoyed fresh, so consider that if this brewery grows and continues to make this.

I had this on tap at the brewery and liked it so much I purchased a sixtel for home. Excellent beer. Beautiful color and outstanding nose. The hop character in this beer is very strong with stong tropical flavors coming through. Very light and easy to drink with limited bitterness. Outstanding beer from an outstanding up and coming brewery.
