On tap at brewery:
Medium to light brown with a slightly rust-colored hue. Soapy off-white head, minor lacing.
Nose seems malty with a bit of spice. A little burnt caramel and maybe a cinnamon or nutmeg like spice, but the specific scent is lightly represented.
Starts with a caramel note more like the caramel in a cola, unsweetened. In some sips I get just a little bit of raw chocolate. Malty with a bit of light brown grass in the mix. Leans just sweet enough. Bittering and spice combine to balance the beer by mid taste. Spice with a light caramel malt accent to the end.
Nice carbonation, slightly watery feel, but a little sharp on the palate with the spice.
Enjoyable, slightly biting version of the style. Luckily it doesn't go too hoppy, but the bitterness level is a bit towards the higher end.

Beer is a nice dark medium amber that is clear. Leaves very nice lacing. Smell and taste have a nice malty caramel note with a nice hop bitterness. Hop is strong enough for a dry finish but not that it overwhelms the malt.
