The second in the "Reissue" single hop Pale Ale series.
This one with Australian Ella.
On draft at Meridian Pint.
Look: Pours much like the Reissue Mosaic did. Pale yellow to gold with a big head that retains fairly well. Slight hop haze with good, web-like white lacing.
Aroma: Smells super nice. Spicy, resiny, and intensely tropical on the nose with lots of great fruit character.
Taste: On the palate, the spicy and resiny hop flavors overtake the tropical. Very pale and dry malt character that lets the hop shine. The Ella hop varietal seems like it would be wonderful to put into a blend, but maybe doesn't quite stand on its own. But I'm thinking this is more personal preference than anything,
Feel: The feel on this is wonderful. Light to medium bodied for the style with medium carbonation. Bitterness is pleasant at 40 IBUs but never dominates. Very easy to drink.
Overall: I love this series. The grist on this beer is tailor made to let a hop's flavor and aroma shine. Ella is not my favorite, but still quite interesting to drink.

Poured from a growler filled yesterday.
L: Hazy yellow color with a half finger of big soapy bubbles.
S: White wine and white grape aromas mixed with dank onion, garlic, and pepper smells. Some mild citrus aromas in the background.
T: Grass, basil, onion, with pepper flavors. Mild citrus flavor and bitterness throughout the beer. Bitterness builds up to a dry finish.
F: Light, almost watery, mouth feel. Very drinkable but I wish there was more here.
Overall this is an OK APA. Definitely not as good as some of the other APAs they've produced or Reissue: Mosaic. It could be individual preferences for the Ella hop but I would put their other offerings before this one.

Pours a light, hazy gold with a half-inch head that leaves a little lacing. Smell is spicy-herbal as well as citrus, though it's lemon-lime and a little orange, no grapefruit. There are also hints of like a wild mint and a kind of meaty quality along with some as-yet undiscovered ripe tropical fruit coming through.
Taste has all the smell going on, and it's good. There's a definite spicy, slightly dry bitterness that lingers, but it never overwhelms, even though it sticks around a good while. Feel is pretty right for an APA, with a nice balance between light carbonation and smooth drinkability. A tad watery in the middle maybe, but it works.
Overall this is a really good APA from my absolute favorite local brewer.
