Super smooth and creamy and sweet and dangerously drinkable.

This beer seems to relax at the apex on palatable malt flavor, but with its overload of malt comes a bounty of character. More flavor than your average wee heavy, were at the upper limit for the style. Brown in color, this beer delivers with a heavier mouthfeel and a phenomenal raisin, toffee and caramel character.

I don't like scotch ales or sweet brews...until now. There is a creamy quality that really works well with the malty flavored. Really outstanding brew that has me wanting to give the whole wee heavy category more consideration.

On tap at brewery:
This is a strange offering in that it is quite good, but I am questioning the style.
It's a deep ruby to auburn brown color and quite clear. Nice rim of very light tan head, with limited lacing.
Nose is dark fruit: raisin, plum; with some caramel to toffee malts. Alcohol is noticeable.
Taste isn't quite as fruity but has those same notes as I got in the nose, along with that feel of alcohol. A very light bitterness barely puts a dent in the sweeter opening notes. Date-like ending comes along quickly, with the lightest remaining tingle from the alcohol.
Maybe a tad style blurring, but I'd expect a little more bitterness and/or a little peat. I could be wrong in this, but I really enjoyed the beer independent of the style, even if it is a tad towards the sweet side.

Beer is a nice ruby brown that is sort of clear. Head has a slight brown tinge. Very appealing and attractive.
Smell and taste are fairly sweet;most likely due to the alcohol content. Sweet caramel notes are pretty strong. Slight bitterness that is barely noticeable.
Heavy body. Very little carbonation. A bit of a tick body but not syrupy.
One heck of a wee heavy. Good for a cold night or day. Go for it.
