from a bottle into a pint glass - bottle on 11/2/16 (being consumed 3 months later)
Pours a light straw-orange, very turbid in the glass. Forms a one-finger head that gets rich ring-lacing.
Smell is of fresh lemon / grapefruit with a little grass hop aroma but subdued.
Taste is crisp, dry, hop-forward and moderately malt-driven at best. The finishing hops come through strong and blend nicely with the malt. This is a well thought out recipe. Carbonation is slightly higher than average. There is a lemon-grass tang that sticks around into the aftertaste - it works well for this beer.
Mouth feel is crisp, unsticky and full of carbonation.
I grabbed this beer when I was visiting down to VA for Thanksgiving. Heard good things and the rumors were true. These guys seem to do a lot of experimentation with IPAs. I love this one's hop-forward nature but sticking true to IPA roots. One knock some may find is the lack of a malt backbone but that is something I have come to enjoy as I explore the American IPA style which this squarely falls within.
I know this is a one-time brew but I sincerely hope they make it again 'cause I will be hitting up Ocelot next time down. I chose this one to bring the most bottles back of after trying 10 of the IPAs there.

From a growler, pours a moderately hazy pale gold. Two fingers of bright white foam. Ample lacing.
Smell is all Nelson--white grape juice predominates, but there are layers of tropical mango and a bit of dank. Taste is similar.
Feel is a thinnish medium. Solid drying bitterness provides a nice finish. Overall, another really good beer from Ocelot.
