Note from the future (2026): I believe this beer was listed as a Wee Heavy initially. This review would’ve been made at that point, especially the part where I mention “this could be a Baltic porter” - which is its current style classification, here and by the brewery.
On tap at brewery:
Pours dark, as expected. Head is mostly soapy, but the larger bubbles sit atop some nicer packed foam. Lacing is a clear night sky of spots.
Nose hits the right spots and is subtle. Sweet roasted notes, this could be a baltic porter or an export Stout. Cola with a little more roast.
Taste follows, a straightforward roasted malt base with enough malty sweetness to differentiate it from a regular Porter or stout.
(edit 2020: given the sweeter stouts, this differentiation is blurred a bit).
Lighter and very approachable feel completes the impression. This thing isn't quite silky, but if I let it flatten a tad, it could be.
(edit 2020: this version is a little heavier than stated, which paired with previous edit leans it more towards a regular stout, IMO)
Nice representation, checks the boxes and is enjoyable to drink. Nothing to stop me from ordering again.

The beer pours a nice light brown and frothy and takes a while for the head to settle down and even when it does there is still a decent film over the surface. The beer itself is a very smooth and clean texture with a nice black color that looks very nice.
The smell is good. It has a nice sweet chocolate note and a light roast note as well as a clean lager yeast encompassing it that gives it a nice sweetness to it.
The taste is good. It has a nice sweet chocolate note and a light roast notes. The beer also a clear and clean taste to it. There is also a slight vanilla note to it.
The feel is pretty good. It has a pretty creamy nice cream feel with some light carbonation to it. It definitely has a heavy body to it that works well with the creamy texture.
Overall, a pretty good beer and worth getting. While the taste isn't super unique, it is most certainly well done and the texture is definitely something that makes the beer worthwhile.
