At the brewery on tap. The beer pours a dark opaque color with a slight head and lacing. Aroma had hoppy hints. The taste follows the nose. A good beer from a consistent brewery.

On tap at brewery:
Quite black, with a nice off-white head that provides moderately strong lacing.
Smell cold seems a lot more American Stout, but gets a bit more hoppy as it warms. It’s still quite roasted, though, dark roast coffee and hint of dark chocolate. Hops are woody to barely herbal. Then again, a deep whiff brings burnt toast.
Taste starts with the roast, and is actually too astringent when cold. Warmth mellows, per usual, but the roast is still strong. It actually seems to sneak in the end after giving you a slightly floral hopped black IPA opening impression.
An overly roasted - relatively nearing burnt - black IPA. Little too hoppy to be a stout, not overly balanced to be a porter. A rare miss from Ocelot for me - and one I think I mildly enjoyed in taster form a few weeks back - for what that’s worth.
