On tap at brewery:
A classic look, pale white gold, maybe a tad more hazy, but I can see my fingers as a blurred mass behind the glass. Lacing is stronger earlier in the pour, but threads last to the end.
Nose also is on point, wheat, yeasty, banana; a sneaky grassy bitterness makes its presence felt more as it warms.
Opening notes stay true to style, following the early nose. There is a grassy bitterness that deviates from the norm, though. It’s distinct but not overpowering. There is a decent peppery aspect, but the bitterness is more noticeable. Nice, palatable feel, medium-light carbonation, frying but slightly bitter lingering feel.
I liked that this beer stayed fairly close to the standards, but twisted it slightly. Too much twisting, and you’re mucking with a style - and this avoids that, IMO. But it’s poking at the boundaries.
