On tap at brewery:
Pale matte yellow gold with nary a ring of white head.
Nose and taste both have a sweet citrus aspect to them, but the taste brings a bit of a tropical flair. Fermented melon and mango join a prominent grapefruit rind in the nose. Grapefruit juice, mango, coconut, and even a little sugar cane stalk get into the taste. Bit of a tingle from the ABV I think more than the carbonation.
I like Montueka and get a little of its unique flavor in this beer. The beer is a bit sweet tasting with that sugar cane note, but it’s tolerable in the smaller pour a 9% beer dictates.

Poured into Belgian tulip.
Look is a hazy pale gold with a small white head that fades quickly. Nose is lots of motueka tropical with some citra grapefruit and orange notes in the background. Taste follows with the motueka notes up front and lots of orange coming through in the middle and through a semi sweet finish with no bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium-thick and creamy. Overall nice juicy DIPA although a bit too sweet for me, but still good stuff and for a great cause.

Solid beer in many ways, but what makes this an ok DIPA versus some of the best I've had is the sugar. I appreciate tasting some of the residual sugar, but this seems to have more than normal. I'm used to the fruit based IPAs, but this seemed a bit too sweet.
