On tap at Smoke & Barrel in Washington, DC.
Galaxy and Comet hops. Same base as Home. As good as Ocelot is, this beer scares me. I've had a number of really bad Galaxy IPAs of late.
Appearance: Looks very pretty. Hazed out, glowing, pale orange. Big fluffy white head. Thick lacing and retention 5+ minutes after the pour.
Aroma: Was worried this would just be a grass/dank/onion fest, but it's not. Definitely some of that but plenty of orange citrus, stone fruit, and pineapple. Hints of sweet pale malt.
Taste: Also really good. Orange zest and peach at the front with definite pine and resin the background. Plays so well with the rye spice. The grist is a home run. This isn't my favorite hop combination, but it's done really well and this is definitely good Galaxy.
Feel: Mouthfeel is super nice. Creamy and coating, but not sweet or lingering. Medium bitterness helps to reset the palate.
Overall: Not in the top tier of Ocelot IPAs, but still damn good.
