On tap at brewery:
A medium to light brown with what seems like more than just color obscuring the light. Long lasting light beige head starts frothy and tall, falling to a thin covering that provides large streaks of lacing.
Nose is a mix of classic toasted malt notes: bread/medium toast with a hint of a few crumbs getting a little extra burn and a little nuttiness. There is a nicely proportioned amount of banana esters.
The beer is light, and the feel accentuates this. The lighter feel causes the bold and dry toasted notes to seem a tad harsher. The beer smooths only a tad as it’s drunk, maintaining a relatively light heft. A mix of earthiness and a little bit of banana also present themselves.
The feel throws this off just enough for me, considering I like the nose and taste pretty well. A little less bold flavor or thicker feel would balance this one better for me.
