Seamless (2021)

This is 2021 version of Seamless which is made entirely with Citra hops versus the Citra and Columbus combo of past Seamless. Pours a golden but with the kind of color texture of melon - like how cantaloupe can appear different depending on the grade of its coloration. The nose isn't that expressive, but I get some unripe mango, lychee, and grapefruit peel. Surprisingly, despite the changes, this in many ways reminds me of the usual hop combo result. There's cantaloupe and out of season mango up front that gives way to some biscuit and grapefruit peel. It's quite dry and perhaps that's why the tropical fruit notes don't pop as much as they could but that also is why this is nimble and drinkable. I am a big fan of the original hop combination which combines the tropical fruit character of Citra with some dank Columbus notes and while this does come up short for me, it's still a really solid offering.
