Golden Years is our English-style summer ale. The Brothers Snyder conceived this little soul as the seasonal response to Hand in Glove. Like that hibernal dark mild, Golden Years weighs in at a trim 3.8%. But this beer similarly packs waves of complex flavors into its diminutive frame — thanks in no small part, again, to a grist composed entirely of Epiphany craft malt.
The North Carolina’s maltser’s Foundation two-row barley (their take on a British pale malt) serves as the base for Golden Years. We lighten the mood with some Helles malt, then add triticale (a rye-wheat hybrid) for just the slightest wrinkle of spice. During the boil and at whirlpool, we judiciously sprinkle in Amarillo, a modern classic Pacific Northwest varietal that lends Golden Years a soft bitterness and subtle notes of sweet orange and lemon citrus.
True to style, this ale drops bright and clear — and we are once again absolutely loving it. We’ll stick with this baby for a thousand years.

“English-style summer ale” but is more like a decent session IPA. Not sure of style, but it doesn’t seem an English mild.
