Nice flavor of molasses and caramel, certainly no “sickly herbal taste” going on. Nutty and a bit cloying. Went well with my carnitas, if a bit thin. Good for the style.

Dark caramel color with a head that vanishes quickly. Possibly nutty smell. Tastes of burnt caramel and some molasses with a sickly herbal taste that stays in the mouth. I've noticed this same unpleasant flavor in other Eastern European brews. Since it's low alcohol then it should have a significantly better taste. The label is better than the beer.

Pours a clear dark orange-brown with a foamy dark khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Thin streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, and nut aromas. Taste is much the same with sweet caramel, molasses, and nut flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of earth bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp mouthfeel. Overall, this is an above average beer that is decent, but very sweet and somewhat cloying.
Serving type: bottle.
