Comes in a standard brown half-liter bottle with a dark label featuring a very proletarian looking gentlemen holding a beer mug. Rice is an ingredient. Best before 7/12/04, I opened it on 2/23/04, in honor of Russia's "Day of the Protectors of the Fatherland."
Pours a pleasant looking clear gold with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. The nose is nicely malted, without the usual sweetness of a Russian strong. The mouth is light and prickly. There's a nice malty opening, followed by some harsh bitterness and a bit of alcohol. The bitterness lingers into the aftertaste, and is joined by some more malt. There are certainly much worse strong beers than this product of a very industrial city in the Ural mountains.
