Poor brew with pretense to be craft. Copper color; nice , white head. Malt and buckwheat honey aroma with strange metallic notes. Sweet malty taste, again with real honey notes. The body is watery and empty. Not horrible, but

The label hypes this as a "honey beer"...so...

Deep honey amber body; thick, rocky head; slow rising filaments of carbonation gently rising; sticky globs of foam all down the glass. Sweet, honey-like aroma. There is the honey again -- mild honey flavor; brown sugar and molasses; light touch of hop bitterness. Medium body; seems rather flat and watery; gently warm; sweet finish.

A respectable, sweet brown ale with lots of emphasis on the honey angle. On the plus side, things are relatively balanced although this is definitely a sweet beer, but not quite cloyingly so.

Sampled from 16.9oz bottle in pint glass

Appearance: pours a thick off white head that drops quickly with moderate lacing. Color is clear amber with plenty of streaming carbonation.
Aroma: honey, caramel malt
Mouthfeel: medium bodied and frothy with a mostly dry finish.
Flavor: definite honey sweetness and taste of honeycomb along with bready malts and caramel with some earthy hops for balance.
Overall: good but not outstanding. I give them credit for having a honey beer where you can actually taste the honey (a rarity), however it is a bit too sweet and I think more than one of these would become cloying.

A: Pours a crystal clear deep copper in color with moderate to heavy amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate garnet red highlights. The beer has a finger tall sudsy foamy beige head that reduces to a mottled thin film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate to heavy amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Light to moderate aromas of toasted and bready malts with light amounts of honey sweetness.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted and bready malts with a moderate amount of honey sweetness. There are some hints of light fruit yeast (apple and white grape) and a light flavor of earthy + spicy hops which imparts a light amount of bitterness in the finish which does not linger.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation.

O: Not bad and pretty easy to drink while evoking memories of Dundee Honey Brown from the late 1990s while in grad school. Not sure I would grab it again but definitely not offensive.

Poured from a brown 14.9 oz. bottle. Has a caramel color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, some honey and malts. Taste is the same, honey and malts, sweet and bready, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a smooth and enjoyable beer.

Pours a ruby amber into the mug. Nice off-white head covering the sparkling beverage. Pleasant taste. Just a touch of sweetness in the beer, well balanced overall. Yum!

14.88oz bottle, Production Date 20.01.15; Best Before appears to be 20.01.16; 4.5% abv. Fresh on the shelves in the last couple of days. I hadn't heard anything about this series from Baltika, so I was surprised to see it.
A - bubbly ivory head fades rather quickly into a thin foam atop a golden-brown colored ale
S - sweet nose with honey malt and earthy hops
T - quite sweet with honey, brown sugar, bready malt, earthy & spicy hops
M - smooth and medium body, finishes on the sweeter side but the hops give it some much needed balance
O - this was about what I expected for this type of beer. Good representation on the style, but nothing to write home about.
