The name means essentially "honey light". It comes in a 1.5l brown plastic bottle with a red and white label featuring a two handled bowl full of honey. Honey is an ingredient. Best before 6/6/04, I opened it on 5/20/04.
Clear slightly orangish gold under an off white two two finger head that shows a bit of body before disappearing fairly quickly, leaving just a couple of lace spots. The sour-sweet smell of Russian malt dominates the nose. The mouth is fairly well carbonated and medium-bodied. There's definitely a sweetness to the taste here, but I wouldn't have guessed honey. The sourness of bad watermelon, so common in Russian beers, is also definitely here. Somehow, they mix fairly well in this brew, leaving a fairly drinkable concoction. A faint wisp of hops streaks across the palate like a meteorite, quickly burning out and leaving no trace. The aftertaste is both sweet and sour. This is an OK brew, nothing more.
