16.9 oz heavy brown bottle. Lots of Russian writing. No freshness dating. The label says it has been in business since 1974, so it is relatively new brewery.
Beer pours a bright gold with a huge initial head. The foam collapses to a skimming in about 2 minutes.
The smell is surprisingly fresh, with delicate floral hop notes and a bit of sour bread.
The taste is slightly sweet with just a bit of bitterness. I cant pick-up any apparent adjuncts, but the beer has a slightly grainy taste. Beer turns a bit sour after about 1/3 of the glass. Not bad, but it keeps the drinkablity factor down a bit. Beer could use a bit more carbonation, perhaps that large head zapped all of it?
This would be a good lawn mower beer and would be very easy to pair with a nice sandwich or salad. It could be much better closer to the source.
