Pours a solid finger of fluffy yellowed-tan head over a slightly hazed red-brown rusted liquid. Smells earthy hops, toffee (almost scorched), and grassy alcohol. Dried hay, mild oranges, forgotten-in-the-sun-baked old caramel square. Dried and greyed redwood deck.

Tastes nice old caramel candy with fresh hop flavor contribution over a white elephant alcohol sting. Very minimal oxidation. Alcohol is there and clean of fusels, but not dominant. Alcohol contributes to a woody dry finish. I wish it could be a bit sweeter and hang on the tongue more, but alas it is a doppel so the alcohol will clean the palette. Md-thick body and glutened-thick mouthfeel (tasteless, but somewhat clingy). I suspect this beer would improve with a year in the cellar, possibly two.
