Hops and Growlers

Cool place along the road. 20 beers on tap (only 18 today, 2 kegs had blown). A shady stop next to the train tracks. I tried 4 decent IPA's. Might have to try a stout for dessert.

 

The best craft beer store on the MS Gulf Coast. 20 beers on tap for growler fill and bottles and cans too. Also the best homebrew supplier. The most knowledgeable beer guy around and can brew a mean beer too.

 

What a gem! I've been coming down to the Biloxi area for several years now for work, and a major issue for me has always been a lack of a local beer scene. Scott is incredibly knowledgable about the Mississippi and Gulf Coast beer scene (and beyond), easy to talk to, and knows the finer points of brewing and beer profiles. Even for a place that has only been open a few months they have a decent (yet growing) selection of bottles from the gulf region and beyond (nice to see Orval down in MS) and a great lineup of 20 taps (all of which are from Mississippi). The shop has a nice laid back vibe, which issue even better considering Scott will let you sample the beers on tap to help discover what the region had to offer. From what I was told, he does a nice job liasing with the local Brewers and manages to get special releases and one offs on tap fairly consistently. A definite must if you are in the Biloxi region.

Nice little hole in the wall. Was visiting and looking for a craft hot spot and came across this. Good selection of bottles but even better on tap. 12 taps with plenty of local (southeast) brews at a steal, highest growler fill was $15! Great one man operation, he suggests you try many if not all the beers on tap. Stop on by and give them a visit and get some beer to go!
