Taster at the brewery, review from notes.
The bartender recommended this after I had tried Rufus & Valleaudated, but it wasn't very distinctive. Dark brown around the edges, nearly black in the glass. Ample head of foam that stuck around. Mild malty aroma and taste, inoffensive and not especially distinctive. Toasted malt.
Light smooth feel, not much body and a little thin. Drinkable enough but pretty basic.
Probably wouldn't get this again, though I see it's role as a gateway transition beer for novices.

Look - Deep brown with orange highlights. Head disappeared and there was no lacing.
Smell - Pleasant caramel sweetness but nothing too complex.
Taste - So decidedly English. The Maris otter malt coming through like gangbusters.
Feel - Complimented the style - more so as it warmed.
Overall - Pleased with it but the taste really made it jump. Can only imagine at cellar temperature what the experience may be like.
