LOOK: Pours a very clear red color with and off white creamy pink tinged head that has poor retention and no side glass lace whatsoever.
AROMA: Very sour. Blackberries, raspberries compote and candy apple aroma
TASTE: YIKES, sour, tart, and then more sour and more tart. Never had a beer more sour than this. This will make you pucker Has one challenged to recreate a little of your robbed saliva.
Nah, and no thank you!

A very solid sour with nice flavors of raspberry (mostly) and blackberry (some) lurking behind the sharp sour flavor profile. Perhaps a little sharp for Berliner Weiss in the body, lacking that softer finish I think many have. Don't confuse this with the taste, which is appropriately zingy. Nice- this has been a go-to lawnmower beer this summer.

There's not many brewers out there who know the difference between a Berlinerweiss and a Gose, even fewer who care. But its nice to know that the competent brewers at The Southern Brewing Company is paying attention. And with the smartly woven raspberries and blackberries added to the beer making process, and those syrup additions are no longer relevant either.
A voluptuous pour of Red and Black shows the underpinnings of fruit with a dark blood red hue, sprinkled with a mild yeasty haze. As its rosy stained foam rises to the brim, the sharp and sour scent reveals a plethora of green berries, green apples, green citrus, and then there's the red berries that tease the nose with red wine notions. With a supple sweetness of sourdough and taffy, a candied and cobbler-like maltiness lays modest tracks of grain and fruit early on the palate.
As the flavors unfold, its the underlying flavor of fermentae that reveals a piquant acidity laced with crabapple, chardonnay, lime, lemon, gooseberry and kiwi. Then the juicy, jammy succulence of blackberry and raspberry that provide a slight heft in taste with the dark impressions of fruit that also treks on the late palate with plum, red grape and blackcurrant. A lightly peppery taste late seems of berry skins and seeds in a pleasant pectin balance.
Medium light on the palate for a Berlinerweiss, the fruits provide a slightly more rounded character that plays on the beer's textures as much as it does taste. A brisk finish of dry burlap extends briefly with hints of sangria and brine. Its almost enough to get those connotations of the University of Georgia's bitter taste out of your mouth.

Picked up a can. Gorgeous color.
First flavors are nicely fruity, but overpowered by salty, generic sourness. Drinkable enough.

This is a "Southeastern Berliner re-fermented with 12 lbs. of raspberries and blackberries." Served on cask at the 2017 ACAF. Revisited about 5 years later with a 12 oz can purchased near Athens GA.
Appearance. This has a purple-maroon body with a minimal head (can had tall but short lived head)
Mixed berries and bread in the nose.
Moderately tart after an initial sweet note. Very fruity.
Overall: Excellent, relatively fruity version of this often fruity style.
