12oz can from Sprayberry Bottle Shop (Marietta, GA). 2.79. No apparent canning date but this is a recent release. Served in a Barrel and Barley teku. Enjoyed 8/9/18.

Pours a rich, nearly opaque amber with two and a half fingers of white froth. The tall cap fades to a puffy island and generous collar, leaving several splashes of lace. Not a bad looking brew but certainly not what I’ve grown accustomed to in hazy IPAs.

Smells of orange zest, pineapple and crackery malt. Pretty simple and straightforward.

Tastes of citrus peel, pine sap, fruit rinds, grass and cracker. Not a punch in the face but this is more bitter than most hazy IPAs I’ve come across and not at all what I would describe as juicy.

Body is on the lighter side of medium with plenty of carbonation. Fairly bitter finish with some citrus peel and pine notes.

I’ve had some mighty tasty brews from Southern Brewing but this just missed the mark for me. I found it more like a light-ish west coast IPA than the increasingly ubiquitous NEIPA I was expecting after reading the label.
