Starting off my St. Patrick's Day weekend holiday beer drinking with this one...
...it wasn't bad a'tall...In fact, it looked great, had a stylish scent to it, and the mouthfeel was light and crisp with a great amount of carbonation. The taste was muted for the style, I thought, which makes it solid if not something that greatly stands out. Definitely one to grab and try if you haven't had the pleasure to do so...

This is a "traditional Irish Red Ale using Laughran malts and a 120 year old family recipe". This old recipe accounts for the somewhat unusual character: the ale has a particularly dark reddish-brown body, a fuller feel, and a bolder, more complex malt flavor than an average version of the style.
