Das Pils was the Brewer’s choice during my last visit to Ragtime.
Served in a 20 oz. glass that is a cross between a strange and a pilsner glass, the beer is bright gold with a just a bit of chill haze. The head is off-white with decent lacing.
Nice aroma of fresh malts, floral notes and more than a bit spice.
At 45 IBU, this falls on the hoppier side of the scale for a German Pilsner. Lots of spice and floral notes with a tinge of something mineral. Lots of semisweet malts and a bit of grain. This beer was easy to drink alone and easy to pair with some ahi tuna and then some red beans and rice.
The mouth is crisp and solid.
I would like to see this one added to their regular rotation and I wouldn’t mind having access to this on a regular basis as it is great American take on a classic German style.
