Seems like they broight this one back. I nevwr had the original so dont know howtey differ.

Two finger head with poor retention and lacing on a hazy dark brown with orange hued body.

S: light aroma with toasted malts, some toffee and earthy hops.

T: very medicinal with a fairly recognizable alcohol content. Sweet to almost being tart caramel malts. Grape, earthy hops and herbal notes.

M: medium body and moderate to high carbonation.

Overall: accomplished sone of the character of a good maibock but the taste is poor and that is what ultimately matters.

This is definitely the best beer in a very good brewpub. I have had it from 2 or 3 different batches, and it has always been a great beer.
Nice hop character up front and in the tail, but with a soft malty mid-taste. Head is a little small, and it pours slightly cloudy, but this is a great beer!

This was a seasonal offering at the pub. It is served in a large pint and came with a warning from the bartender about its 8.2% alcohol level.

The beer is a nice bronze with a skinny off white head. Not much lacing.

The nose is of sweet malts with hints of plum and apples.

The taste tracks the smell. The beer is sweet but not cloying. The fruit flavors are fairly pronounced and they are backed by a bit of toasted graininess. The brewer was able to hide the 8+ percent very well.

The mouth is nice and sturdy with a bit of an oily quality. Given the alcohol and the sweetness of this beer, it was one and done for me. Worth a try!
