Strong hop character backed up by a mild but noticeable malt backbone. Dry hopped with a creative blend of hops designed to yield notes of citrus, tropical fruit, and pine. This beer is named after our mascot and brand ambassador, THE ATOMIC DUCK, and his mythology is the inspiration for this ale.

I tried a 4oz pour of this beer off the tapper at the brewery as part of a rour sample flight whilst in Vegas for my long time friend's wedding. It poured a clear golden with white head that left some lace. The scent had pine and citrus fruit notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bright malt base with sweet citrus fruit presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Bought a few cans to bring back home from my now favorite brewery in Las Vegas....definitely check them out if you haven't already!

A- First off, the artwork on the can is great, as the brewery is known for ducks! As for the brew....for an IPA, this is clear as day, yet shows signs of chill hazing, and slight yeast suspension, within the light golden hued liquid. The carbonation appears to be plentiful, yet the columns rising are slow and steady, creating new pops at the top. The head is super white and doesn't get thick at any point, rather setting fast into a thin-ish white layer of foamy goodness that creates small UFO circles in the field. The lacing is thin yet sticks to the inside of the glass, and stays there too....excellent!

S- The aromas are a pleasant balance between a leafy hop presence, as there should be, and a malty stability on the nose. Slight citrus rinds such as lemon, grapefruit and polemo give some bittering tang to the smells, along with perhaps some orchard fruit, pineapple and an Earthy pine dampness to help finish things off. Well rounded overall in this category.

T- The flavors trend along the same lines as the aromas, with hop bitterness blending nicely with a malt backbone. The hop presence on the palate is leafy/Earthy, of citrus fruits (muted grapefruit, tangelo, pomelo, and lemon rind), while the malt is light and crisp, with golden caramel, golden (not brown) sugar, and barley grain sugars. The finish is clean and I look forward to each and every sip after the last.

M/O- The mouthfeel is light/medium in body and the carbonation is medium, with plenty of wee tiny bubbles popping on the tongue. This is a highly drinkable IPA....super approachable for both the beginner and veteran connoisseur of the style alike....the alcohol is hidden well too and super smooth texture wise. I did before and would happily have this with a meal, and am excited at the prospect of enjoying this once again at the brewery sometime in late Janurary of whichever year I am privileged enough to get to visit the city of LV again for work!

Poured from a fresh 16oz can into a Pint Glass, it pours a light straw yellow into about 1/2 a finger head, which has some mild carbonation (lacing) which replaces the head within a minute or so. The aroma is fruity.

> There is more body (medium) than expected, and the front end is a nice bitter Grapefruit with Pine and those hops stick around on the palate for a while too. There is some resin to it. It has a West Coast profile for sure, and I believe the hops might be Simcoe or Citra and perhaps Mosaic (wild guesses here). This forms a "juicy" flavor of tropical fruits, and it quite tasty. The finish is dry, which I really like in IPA's.

The flavor is a bit of a surprise, as I honestly wasn't expecting much after the pour. The Straw yellow color is an obvious turn off for me; as even some food coloring would be welcomed here. And this effects my rating. Not much head or lacing either. I wouldn't call it under-carbonated however, as the lacing keeps going throughout .

All in all this is a nice Summer BBQ drinker for me, which is really in DIPA territory coming in with a 7% final gravity. I like it, and will definitely pick up more next time I see it at Costco, where it is selling for about 10 bucks a 4 pack in my neck of the woods.

Surprising, in a nice way.

Thanks to my friend who brought this all the way back from Vegas. West coast all day!

Light aroma with a citra-esque nose and on the sip. Not much in the way of malt, as expected (and enjoyed). Mild bitterness. This hit the spot.

Here at the Little Ale Inn in Rachel, Nevada and this was the local beer available out of all the cans offered. There wasn’t anything particularly memorable about this but it was fine to pair with a burger, in the middle of nowhere!

Golden, a bit hazy, and old-school in appearance, this was topped off with plenty of uneven foam that was quite bubbly. That never fully settled as most of the lacing ended up in the middle of the glass mug that this was poured into. Sweet malt, turbid citrus, and pine were in the nose as the left coast impression that those gave me were also present in the taste. An earthy undertone and touch of weed emerged as this warmed up, along with a faint booziness as this was strong enough for an American IPA.

Enough carbonation was here, along with some hop oils, as the aftertaste was a bit tangy, and left a slight tingle on my palate. Looked like it was canned on 8/4 of this year as it was a fresh as could be, given the dank nature of this brew. This was sufficient enough to enjoy by itself but for me, it was better to have a meal to pair it with, to forget how typical this turned out to be…

a real good ipa that appears to be their flagship, northwestern to me in its hop complexion, and it has a somewhat old school balance with some richer sweeter grain, but it stays just a tad lighter than many, even with the abv where it is, this has some warmer weather appeal and drinkability, finishes on the dry side and isnt perhaps overly bitter, so there is some pint after pint draw, one of the better local hoppy beers we had while in vegas recently. nice clarity, a tad richer than pure blonde but short of the copper tones some of these older school ones hit, good bubbly head on it from the tap, looks well polished and highly attractive. nose of sweet orange, cooked citrus more generally too, floral honey, sticky weed and pine sap, and just a hint of tropical fruit too, maybe mango, a touch of grain sweetness and a summery overall complexion that doesnt smell as bitter as it ends up being, thoroughly west coast. the flavor is citrus forward with some oiliness driving that home, along with a mellow ripe yellow peach note and some spruce and woodiness beefing it up a little bit. its got a little stickiness to the texture but rushing carbonation cleans the palate up quick on each sip. i like the pine note among the bitterness on the tail end, and the freshness and layering of the hops are both outstanding. delicious and timeless take on ipa, well suited to warm weather, and very nicely refined. underrated.
