Writing the second review of this beer. The prior one doesn't count as it is word for word copied from Untappd, who OWNS this website. This was my last beer at the location.
Pours a pretty brown. Thin beige head on top, 1/5". The aroma hits tequila, maris otter, and bourbon. Light rum like sweetness to it.
Taste has just the right amount of sweetness for a barrel aged barleywine. Layers of different spirit barrels make for a pretty good product that is better than the sum of its parts. Cool chill Maris malt body, light earth. Easy abv to drink mouth feel wise, low carbonation but appropriate for style generally and this beer specifically. Mouth feel was smooth, not hot, bitter nor hoppy. Quintessential English barleywine mileposts. Could have swore they claimed a higher abv than 11 at the source.
This was my favorite beer of the Las Vegas work trip of October 2022. The day you threw me out, the bottle took me in.

Nice looking beer—almost as dark as a stout but with bright, off-white head. Strong malt aromas with molasses, soy sauce and sherry. Flavors similar, but soy sauce dominates, which is not the most attractive feature. Medium body with low carbonation. Good hops bitterness and surprisingly low alcohol heat for the ABV, but finish is a bit cloying.
