Poured from the tap into an arome glass at the taproot in Griffith, IN. The beer is a pure black color with a dark tan foamy head with low retention.
Smell is chocolate and coffee with some charcoal and brown sugar. Roasted malt.
Taste is heavily roasty with lots of coffee and anise taste with some smoke. Dark chocolate dominates the midpalate and finish, along with some vanilla and a bit of wood. Rich.
Overall, a good stout. Everything you want.
