On draft at the brewery. Dark enough to pass the visual ID test as a porter. The aroma, too, is lightly roasty and bitter. The first swallow is a bit thinner than hoped for with just a bit of chalky roastiness to it. As I settle into it, it mellows more and more with an overarching sweetness accented only slightly by a bitter chocolate tinge. (#2710, 2/16/2007)

Advertised as a "Brown Porter" which I equate to English Porters more than American Porters...
Solid dark brown with a nice light creamy light brown head, decent carbonation and good head retention. Light roasty and chocolate malt aromas with a moderate touch of hops. Moderate to high roastiness with moderate hop bitterness and a robust espresso-like character. Medium bodied and smooth with a dry roasty coffee-like finish.
The best Brown Porter I've had to date ! All in all - damn good - and fairly robust for the style; an excellent Brown/Robust hybrid.
Note: This review was based on a growler from the OD Brewpub.
