Reviewed from notes.
Pours a nice cloudy yellow-grain color with a white head and a bit of lacing after the two-finger head settles down. Good aromas of grain, citrus, banana, and some spice. Hints of bubblegum. The taste is a bit of grain with a lot of yeast notes. Good creamy mouthfeel with very nice drinkability. The finest I've had from Fordham.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into my Russian River tulip glass. Pours a slightly hazy yellow gold color with very little head. Not much head retention and no lacing on the glass.

Aroma has wheat, banana and clove, pretty much what you would expect from a hefewiezen. Taste is sweet and then like the nose wheat, banana and clove.

Mouthfeel is light and moderate carbonation. Drinkability is OK, it's light and decent tasting making it pretty drinkable. Overall, I found this a little too sweet and slightly under carbonated for the style for me. It was decent but probably wouldn't be my top choice for a hefewiezen when I'm in the mood.

Pours a rather typical clear pale yellow, but it does have a fairly thick and fluffy white head. Strong aroma is wheaty and yeasty and has a slight hint of citrus. Flavor is smooth and wheaty with a touch of lemon, not complex but perfect for bringing a ray of sunshine into a gloomy day. Texture is rich and smooth and just a little fizzy.

New World Wheat pours a fairly typical hefeweizen appearance with a hazy orange gold body beneath a short head of white foam. Chunks of yeast can be seen dropping to the bottom of the glass. Unfortunately, the head retention and lacing are limited.

The aroma is straightforward sweet, wheaty malt and banana.

The flavor is a little more complex, mixing some mild clove into the finish, but it's still basically sweetish, almost candyish, wheat and banana upfront. A very low bitterness tries to help keep it in check but doesn't do much, leaving it a little sticky in the finish.

In the mouth it's medium-full and dextrinous with a fine bubbled median carbonation that gently tingles the tongue.

Overall, it's clearly on the sweet side, but not overly so. Beyond one it might become cloying. Maybe not.

Appearance: Pours out a hazed, burnished gold body with a brief, white head.

Smell: Nose of tangy wheat malt with a hint of wheat chaff and the obligatory notes of bananas, cloves, and citrus.

Taste: Sweet, tangy malted wheat as well as some crisp barley. The sweet malts step aside for tastes of banana, lemon, and light clove. Minimal hop presence with no more than a small hint of bitterness. One last touch of wheat on the semi-dry finish.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Creamyish mouthfeel.

Drinkability: Take it or leave it. NWW is by no means the best hefeweizen around, but it gets the job done, I suppose.
