Tripelt is inspired by a classic Belgian tripel - a sweet and easy drinking ale fermented with a Belgian Ardennes yeast and hopped with Northern Brewer and aroma hopped with Styrian Golding. Spiced with Indian coriander, freshly squeezed lemon and orange peel.

This version has been aged in Fary Lochan nettle smoked Winter batch #2 whisky barrels for 6 months which has given this beer fantastic smoke, whisky and wood

Copenhagen 16/3 2021. 33 cl bottle from Brygshoppen web-shop. Black label over-scribbled with letters in different colors giving me beername, -style and main ingredients which seem to be whiskey and stinging nettle.

Pours murky amber with a small bubbly white head. Settles as thin patches of foam swimming about. No lacing.

Aroma is intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with smoky, peaty whisky. Sweet pale malts, caramel, smoked peat, saltwater, woody whisky.

Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, greasy, almost flat texture.

Flavor is intense with a strong sweetness followed by a moderate bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet and smoked Lingers for a while. Finish is smoky and semi-dry.

Quite on the sweet and smoky side. More Smoked than Tripel.
