A Granfætter Hazy IPA is of course brewed with fresh Sitka spruce shoots. To give the spruce flavor an extra boost, we have hopped with a mix of American Simcoe and Vista as well as New Zealand Southern Cross, which together give a spicy taste and aroma of citrus and pine needles.
All hops are added in the whirlpool after boiling and as dry hops in the fermentation tank to keep the bitterness low in this Christmassy cousin.

Copenhagen 27/3 2026. 44 cl can from Best of Beers web-shop trying to get rid of their Christmas inventory. A green can with a very living fir tree smiling at me.

Pours unclear - almost hazy - golden yellow with a mid-sized white head. Fragments of yeast whirling about. Settles as a 0,5 cm thick layer of frothy foam covering the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.

Aroma is medium intense with a sweet odor of ripe stone fruit mingling with a citric scent. Floral notes of pine tree. Peach and nectarine. Lemon and lime. Resin and pine needles.

Light carbonation. Medium thick, oily, soft, gently tingling texture.

Flavor is medium intense with a rather strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a sweet undertone Lingers for a while. Finish is semi-dry.

Well-balanced NEIPA with touch of pine tree.
