a cool idea for an ipa in this day and age, using all the classic northwestern c hop varietals like centennial and cascade and chinook and the like, its what ipa used to be like before milkshakes and hazies, i miss this flavor profile and i miss the bitterness it used to come with. i dont think this is the most well polished ipa ine world, it has a little hop burn and greenness to it that i noticed in some of their other hoppy offerings, but i love the flavor of these hops, piney and spicy, woodsy and vegetal, bitter and grapefruity, delicious and familiar. the grain base is light here, some body to it and a solid abv obviously, but its not real flavorful on the malt side, pleasantly dry though. i get a crystalline citrusy thing in the middle, super fresh before all the bitterness comes in. high carbonation is nice with the intensity of the hops, and the dry finish is cool, leaving just the hops on the tongue. better than a lot of their other hoppy beers in here and a cool throwback to some once popular hop varietals!
