really tasty cream ale, a little stronger and fuller bodied than most, and in this case spruced up with quality coffee. it is a bit sweeter than it needs to be, almost desserty with the leftover malt sugar, which kind of kills the normal sessionability i like about a cream ale to begin with, but the beer is delicious and its hard to be too critical. the sweetness actually extends the coffee well, and i get subtle nut and smoke notes to it, light cocoa, and even a vanilla hint with the sweet element thats here. its distinctive in its grain profile too, being fuller and more complex, but it somehow stays kind of crisp too, i think the high carbonation really helps with that, and its smooth as can be to drink on. boldly flavored, but it works well with a lot of their robust foods in here too, and overall i thought this was excellent, a different kind of cream ale and really a different kind of coffee beer on the whole. well done. do not miss this place if you are in san antonio, it is one of our favorites so far for sure!
