Eggnostic Egg Nog

a neat idea for a cream ale here, modeled on egg nog. it really does smell and taste like it too! likely the same base as the coffee cream they do, but it doesnt seem as dark, heavy, or sweet to me as that one, and as such i way more drinkable. might be my gals favorite beer of our trip to texas so far even. it has a light honey sweetness and an obvious creamy profile, subtle vanilla and i think cinnamon notes to it, nothing overdone at all, still very much still tastes like beer first. not quite perfectly clear, deep golden in color, and with an airy and light head on it, high level carbonation too, the texture is right. some of the usual cream ale crispness is sacrificed to the egg nog concept, but i have no problem with that in this context, the egg nog character is faithful and delicious, and i am surprised how well this really does work. all of the beer was pretty impressive and thoughtful in here, and this is up there with the carrot saison to me as the best of the ones we have had so far! i rarely like desserty beers enough to have multiples of them, but this is great!
