Definitely amber with the lightest of hazes. Extensive lace (rings and webs) from the relatively minor, but lasting, head.
The smell reminds me of the typical brewery smells with lots raw and malted barley notes.
The flavor has a bit of unexpected smoky elements on the initial taste. There's a woodsy taste to the malt. When the hop comes in, it reminds me of earthy elements. The body is solid and the carbonation neutral -- a good combination. The complexity is intriguing even if the flavors are not my preference.
