This Belgian IPA has a bright golden color with a slight haze. The hops mixed with the malt bill give off earthy yet citrus undertones with a bready smooth finish. The Belgian yeast used has strong notes of banana and spices that make you salivate upon cracking open a can. This beer is perfect for any celebration. Santé!

In Belgium, when sharing a drink with friends, the tradition is to stand up, make direct eye contact, raise a glass twice and say "Santé!" The Belgian Shepherds' toasting symbolizes the culture behind the beer and the traditions held by people around the world during the many occasions that come with the final months of the year. This beer is for spending time with loved ones and sharing a drink to embrace good times together.

Belgian IPAs are very underrepresented in today's beer scene, with this being only my second example of the style. I didn't exactly love the other one I had, Raging Bitch, but I'm more than willing to explore the style a bit more

Pours a cloudy orange gold with 2 fingers of white head that slowly fades to a thin cap and leaves minimal lacing

Immediately from then pour, the banana is strong in the aroma, complimented by spice. In the glass, I'm picking up on aromas of white pepper, vanilla, creamy banana, doughy malt, herbal hops, and a hint of clove

There's less yeasty sweetness in the taste as it takes on more of a herbal spice. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting white pepper, red malt, herbal hops, crackery malt, and a touch of lemon rind. The swallow brings notes of crisp bready malt, herbal hops, pear, and an aftertaste of banana

A medium body pairs with moderate carbonation, resulting in a zippy and refreshing beer. Finishes almost entirely dry with lingering sweetness

This was a good beer, certainly better than the last I had, even at 7 months old. I'd love to try this fresher and keep trying more examples of the style

Poured from a 16 oz. can. Has a very dark golden color with a 1/2 inch head. Smell is mild, a bit of yeast. Taste is yeast, spices, some hops are present, refreshing. Feels medium bodied in the mouth and overall is a pretty good beer but I was hoping for a bit more.

Lord Hobo Brewing Co. "Santé!"

Notes via stream of consciousness: Santé! has poured a hazy deep-golden body beneath a standard head of white foam. The aroma is mainly malty with gently sweet and bready grain dominating, some banana/vanilla, and peppery spiciness. On to the taste... well that's a change! It's got a lot more spiciness than the aroma suggested there would be. It's got lots of black peppercorn as well as a hint of herbs and even pine. I was expecting the sweetly bready malt to dominate but it's knocked to the floor by the peppery yeast. The banana/vanilla is still there, and I'm wondering why I'm getting a vanilla note as there's certainly none added and this isn't an oak aged beer. There's a little bit of clove in there as well, some plum and apple, and a hint of citrus. It's got a firm bitterness, and a very dry finish due to the peppery spiciness from the yeast (unless of course they've added peppercorns, which is certainly not unheard of). Sometimes I get the sweetish-banana lingering on the tip of my tongue, but mostly I find the black pepper at the back. In the mouth it's medium bodied and crisp. So what to say about this? It's OK I guess. The appearance wasn't great but I'll forgive the haze, and the head did hold better than average. There's some lacing left behind but not much. The aroma was OK as well, but nothing special. The flavor is also OK. It's sweetish but then dry, and there are some different notes going on, but overall it's lacking a certain something~something. There are better Belgian-style IPAs out there, and I'll suggest you try to find one of those.

Pours a dull, milky orange with a light head. Aroma is typical saison profile of bready yeast, with light spicy esters.
Palate follows and immediate impression is of a belgian saison. As it expands on the palate the hop notes follow through on the length, leaving a very clean finish.
An interesting hybrid experiment and easy to drink. Personally, I would rather stick to a finer example of either style depending on my mood.

Pours a translucent light golden color with a small short lived head.

Smells and tastes of yeast and spice with a slightly bitter finish.

Light body and carbonation. Clean crisp mouthfeel.

This is a nice "lite" rendering of several Belgian strong ales and triples that I have tried.

Pours a golden hue with a short lived head. Nose is yeast, spices, clean. Taste is classic Belgian with a nice bitterness from the hops that sits on the back of your tongue. Even though this is called a Belgian IPA, the hops are not predominant, they're nicely balanced with the Belgian taste profile. Very clean, slightly dry finish - avoids being overly sweet like some Belgian style beers tend to be, The sweetness is really kept in check making this a really drinkable beer. Kudos to Lord Hobo for this one, very nicely crafted and a pleasure to drink.
