The last time I had a strawberry or pink lemonade sour (from Great Notion), it ended up tasting exactly as described, and was absolutely delicious, despite the lack of some real beer characteristics. Basically what I'm getting at is that this one had a pretty high bar to stand up to, and hopefully it impresses me
Pours a hazy pale gold with 2 fingers of white head that fades to a thin ring and leaves decent lacing
There's definitely a signature tartness in the nose, but it doesn't exactly scream strawberry lemonade. I'm picking up on aromas of lemon juice, wheat bread, acetic acid, light strawberry, and cherry
Ok, I'll give it the fact that it tastes more like strawberry lemonade, but still not quite the tart and refreshing taste that I expect. On the front end of the sip I'm tasting tart lemon rind, wheat bread, white pepper, and raspberry. The swallow brings notes of tart lemon, orange juice, sweet strawberry, bready malt, and very light earthy hops
A light medium body pairs with gentle carbonation, resulting in a very crisp and tart beer. Finishes mostly dry with a bit of sweetness to balance it out
Not a great beer, but certainly nothing bad. Pretty run of the mill honestly, but it's not something I won't drink if offered
