Blackberry Milkshake IPA
For some unknown reason, our brewers’ footwear of choice in the summer is crocs. Don’t worry, that doesn’t stop them from their extracurricular activities and flipping that strap down to go into “sport mode” when called for. While sport mode is activated during summer activities, you can’t beat a cold blackberry milkshake IPA to recharge with. The aroma of ripe blackberries meets juicy and tart berry flavors, rounded out by a creamy softness provided by a touch of lactose sugar. Get ready to kick your taste buds into gear with this summer treat.

Notes via stream of consciousness: Why are there Crocs on the label design? Is that "sport mode"? I thought that was the 'dad who drives a minvan' mode. It's poured a murky/chunky golden-orange body beneath a now non-existent head. What color was it? Let me give it a swirl... it's mostly white. There are chunks of protein in suspension. In the nose it's like pineapple and dark berries but I won't specifically say blackberry as it could just as easily be elderberry, or maybe even black raspberry - only the taste will tell! OK, so it's sweetish with a doughy malt that's balanced by some acidity and a - - - - STOP - - - - I just noticed on the label that it says that the reason for the Crocs on the label is that the brewers' choice of footwear in the summer is Crocs. WTF? I'm not a super safety conscious guy but if you're doing any work in the brewery you shouldn't be wearing Crocs. I've had brewers get injured wearing the industry standard boots that go almost up to your knees. This is absolutely f'n unbelievable. Good luck to them on their lawsuit when something happens (anything really) as the opposing lawyers point out this failure in supervision. - - - - Back to the beer, where was I? Ahh, so it's malty sweet but also acidic, and fruity. In the flavor it's clear that it's blackberry but it also has a bit of apricot to it, and I honestly can't find much beyond that except for some grassiness. It's a little bit of a one-trick pony in that way, but it's still good. A moderate bitterness balances it and along with the acidity it finishes dry and fruity. In the mouth it's medium bodied and smooth. All in all it's a very nice fruit beer that could act as a dessert beer if needed.

Pours a light red color with a minimal head that disappears quickly. Aroma of sweet fruits. Taste is slightly tart. Crisp and dry with a slightly bitter finish.

16 oz can into a curved pint glass.
The color is...I don't even know. The amount of sediment floating around makes it look like pulpy grapefruit juice. Not much head. Awful. And yes, I rolled the can.
Not much aroma here. Some faint blackberry tartness. A hint of vanilla. Inoffensive but that's all I can say about it.
The flavor is pretty straightforward. Sweet and subtly tart blackberries with some light vanilla. Maybe some pineapple? Eh. Not terrible.
The feel is medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Extremely dry finish.
Overall, I'd say this is a pretty weak offering. It's not awful by any means, but the nose just isn't there and the flavor barely tastes like what it's trying to be. Don't bother.

seems the milkshake separated from the beer on this one - possibly gone bad. pours near flat reddish hue with large chunks of sediment floating throughout and eventually settling mostly on the bottom of the glass. smells like a mildly sweaty sock. taste is almost endurable, but gets less so by the moment - yep, definitely a bad batch. sadly, this is one of a small number of brews i'm forced to pour down the drain. better luck next time.

Light brown with a red hue. Although advertised as a "milkshake" IPA, the look is only cloudy. Lasting head with limited lacing.
Much more sweet than bitter to the nose. Attractive.
The same situation with the flavor, more sweet than bitter. Full bodied but with an elevated effervescence as well. Well blended finish which creates a brief aftertaste.

Tart blackberry - almost a sour. The Fully fermented Blackberry and Milk Sugar bursts on your tongue, combining to add a Coconut-like aftertaste that is unique. Delicious on tap. 12 oz pour. Very little head, none after a few minutes. Amber with a touch of haziness.
