Oaked Coffee Baltic Porter
Sometimes people forget that a lot of the beer making process consists of patiently waiting and watching. This beer is a tribute to the unsung heroes of the brewhouse - The Watcher, those who monitor the canning line and ensure our labels are properly affixed to every can. All that watching can be tiresome, so we dosed this beer with house-brewed cold brew coffee for a smooth and roasty pick-me-up that plays nicely with all of the rich malt flavors. To round the brew out, and to keep the team from having to do any more watching, we partnered with Two Tree Distilling to help us introduce some additional toasted and charred bourbon barrel characteristics to this already big and bold baltic porter, simulating the rich flavors found in beers extensively barrel-aged for 10-12 months. This beer is a delightful combination of freshly roasted coffee paired with oaky and vanilla bourbon notes.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the Woburn brewery location as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with off white head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had strong coffee notes. taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bold coffee presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
