Like most of our Vagabond Series releases, the name of this delightful treat was conceived over a few post-shift beers, aka “Shifties”. Someone brought in a Peanut Butter Stout to share and one of our brewers promptly shouted out “Peanut Butter Shifty Time!”, and the name immediately stuck. Exuding aromas of chocolate and roast with undertones of peanuts greeting you at each sip, this silky smooth, full-bodied stout delivers rich layers of creamy peanut butter with a hint of dark chocolate. No tricks, only treats–it’s Peanut Butter Shifty Time.

I am trying this beer off the tapper at the Woburn brewery location as part of a four sample flight. It poured an opaque dark with thin ecru ring head that is not leaving much lace. The scent had strong peanut butter notes. taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bold peanut presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.
