Bright light passes through the edge of the glass (appears to be clear) but this is otherwise a deep dark brown. Moderate head but it sticks around leaving plentiful stringy lace.
Darker malt nose with a touch of charcoal and semisweet chocolate.
Thinner body with a lower carbonation level--very accurate for the style. Strong black patent malt presence but it does not mimic a stout. The finish leans to the burnt and bitter but doesn't create a long aftertaste.
