Picked this up late last year at Gary's in Wayne, as it took me a while to get to given the backlog that I have here. I enjoyed the previous offerings that I had from Lord Hobo as this was easily on par with those. While this wasn't outstanding in any particular aspect, it was nicely done and easy to enjoy as it almost felt like a Breakfast Stout with just a bit more alcohol to it!
To no one's surprise, this poured dark and had a bubbly, tan head that complemented the liquid nicely. That completely dissipated as there wasn't much of any lacing to be seen either. Lots of coffee and lactose in the subdued nose as taste had milk chocolate, dark berry, and coffee creamer in it. Equally sweet, slick, and cloying, this had a full body to it as the carbonation was lightly present and not enough to completely scrub the flavors away after every sip. The malt emerged on the palate once the liquid went down, as this felt like it had enough of that and barley to leave me wanting more - as well as a chaser of water.
Enough alcohol was in this to complement everything else going on, as this was canned on 10/6 of last year. No sediment was visible in the liquid as I'd reach for this again, but more as something for breakfast instead of a cup of joe. This was nicely brewed and fine all-around but not particularly memorable at the same time, as it didn't completely live up to it's potential.

Canned on 10/06/22. Pours an almost black color with tan short lived 1/2 finger high head that leaves descent lacing for the style. Coffee forward in aroma and taste with a deep malty sweet backbone. Taste also has hints of chocolate & chicory with a slightly bitter sweet finish. Very smooth and drinkable with a medium body just shy of syrupy. A little boozy in the finish but not overly so. Another triumph for LH, nice job!

Pours a dark brown with a small short lived tan head with little lacing.
Smells and tastes of sweet roasted malt, bitter coffee and dark chocolate with a boozy warm finish.
Medium body with little carbonation. Lightly lush and syrupy mouthfeel.
This is a nice , not too strong sipper.
