Banger #4 highlights Hop Hash for intensive hop flavor and aroma so thick you can almost chew it. This raw, unpolished, sticky, oily, intensely concentrated lupulin is so rich with hop character that we just had to use it in this brew.

Pours a hazy dark golden color with a 1F head and moderate lacing.
Smells of slightly dank grassy piney hops with some citrus.
Tastes of orange, lemon, sweet fruit and a bit of cantaloup with a lightly bitter finish.
Medium body with light prickly carbonation. Oat in the malt smooth mouthfeel.
This is a very drinkable, very juicy brew.

After emptying two twelve ounce cans into a clear glass liter mug, the brewer's claim on the cans seems realistic. This looks and even smells thick. The color is dank apricot-amber with a stark white head. It smells hoppy and starchy, but mostly hoppy. It's complex, with notes of tropical fruit and pine leading. It also drinks dankly; this is one wet feeling beer. But, it doesn't seem too thick. A big surprise is how little the hops bite. There's very little bitterness despite the piney element to the smell. Yet, this isn't a sweet beer, so the fruity element to the smell isn't there, neither. Still, this brings plenty of softened flavors; it's certainly not bland. There's very little glass lacing. Adding lupulin to beer may not satisfy some purists, but so many things are being added, this doesn't seem wrong. Overall, this drinks smoothly and flavorfully. It may not bite like many AIPAs do, but there is enough hop presence to make it work. Maybe it's a cumulative effect, but by the end of the twenty-four ounces, the hop bite did become more noticeable in a resinous sort of way.
